Menu Plan Monday – Thanksgiving Week 2013

by

I have Thanksgiving plans well under way.  I am using my Thanksgiving Gluten Free! eBook to help me too.  It has all my favorite recipes in it.  I think we’ll be adding a popcorn cake this year.  We have been studying the Pilgrims and all things Thanksgiving for school this month.  One of the many things we have learned is that the Indians (Native Americans) invented popcorn.  I saw a recipe for popcorn cake in one of the books we got from the library…..I have to find it now and get the recipe.  It seems similar to popcorn balls only made with powdered sugar.  I may just make popcorn balls.  We’ll see.
This will be a busy week making all of our favorite things for Thanksgiving.  As well as trying to remember the true meaning of Thanksgiving is giving thanks for the bountiful blessings that God has granted…family, food, friends, His Son.
Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever. Psalm 107:1

Menu Plan Monday 2013 – #39

by

As this year is winding down I can’t seem to stay on top of everything.  We had  several things going on last week including a Medical Clinic at our church.  It was an awesome outreach.  We served about 30 people from the community.  This coming week is a another busy one…. We will be going to a local dairy that does a fall theme and has milking demo and teaches about the process of cow to store.  Last week one of the younger kids and I attended a class at the Apple Store and there’s one for the older kids this coming week.

I just won a new cookbook – 365 Slow Cook Suppers by Stephanie O’dea.  I have been using it, trying many recipes.  It has been awesome.  I’m going to have a slew of recipes for summer to keep the kitchen cool and enjoy it over the winter for easy meals and dinner on the table without the rush around dinner time.

I have several new recipes I’ve tried.  Just haven’t had time to get them on the computer.  If you need some new recipe ideas then you can check out the new Thanksgiving Gluten Free! eBook, it has many never before posted recipes as well as many helps for Thanksgiving which is just over two weeks away.

I
had my eye on this treat for a while and finally grabbed a box.  They
are definitely a treat $4.99 for a box of three.  It was well worth it.
The were delicious.  The dark chocolate on the outside was crisp with a
very deep dark flavor and the caramel ice cream was divine, so smooth
and creamy.  These bars are Kosher, Vegetarian, Gluten Free, HFCS Free
and Hormone Free!
