August was a blur of life, so much in that one month – now enter September, what I consider the in-between-month, not quite summer or fall.  We have experienced a bit of cooler weather, a tiny bit, in the mornings and evenings.  You kind of forget that by mid-day though when the blazing heat sets in.  I am looking forward to cooler weather, gentle breezes, open windows and baking more.  Right now though the kids are actually enjoying the days that are hot enough for backyard pool fun, but not too hot to be outside.

I have planted some of the fall garden I’m trying to do.  Cucumbers, which have already began to grow, peppers and carrots.  So far only the cucumbers have sprouted. The tomato plants are still eking out a few tomatoes.  The strawberry plants are still not producing.

I made pizzas from scratch this last week.  Thin and deep dish.  They need a bit of tweaking, but I haven’t had deep dish pizza in almost two years!  I will try and share these recipes soon.
