Pretty much 100% guaranteed non-contaminated french fries! That’s what I’m talking about! Woo hoo!!! I think one of the things I miss the most is eating fast food french fries, I know, I know, they are not really healthy for you, but oh, the deep fried goodness of a potato, I mean, come on, who doesn’t love that?
We don’t eat out much here at my house. It’s just too hard and somebody usually gets sick afterward and it doesn’t seem worth it in the end. But, I do miss it terribly.
My friend had told me about going to Five Guys quite some time ago. There is actually one here where I live, though I’ve never been….yet. I called here and they didn’t seem quite as gluten knowledgeable here as where she had visited, but now that I’ve been there I will definitely give it a go here.
First of all they were super friendly when you entered. Then they called out “food allergy” when we told them, and on the line they were told to change their gloves. I was very impressed with this, the service and the food.
We ordered cheeseburgers, minus the bun and a large fry, to share, that was so big we couldn’t eat them all!
I didn’t not get sick at all. I can’t tell you how great it was to eat a burger and fries out. The burger was hot and fresh, juicy with great flavor, the fixings (tomato, lettuce, pickles) were all fresh too. The only thing missing was a bun…….definitely will try the one here in town.
When I said almost 100% guarantee of no cross-contamination on the fries is because they only serve hamburgers, hot dogs and fries. So fries are the only thing that they fry in the oil. If you have one near you – gluten free or not – give it a try, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.
